The Flâneur d'Or, awarded by Pedestrian Mobility Switzerland with the support of the Federal Roads Office, recognizes exemplary pedestrian projects in Switzerland.
The conversion of this barn into an artist's studio proposes the insertion of a new wooden slab separating the ground floor from the creative space on the floor. With only 90 kg / m2, the new girder floor crosses the entire space over a length of 15 m. Its structure is made up of four thin main beams with a height of 120 cm, a secondary system and covered with wooden plates.
The latter participate in the rigidity of the whole thanks to its solidarity system. Upstairs, the framework has been renovated according to an old-fashioned method, always respecting the existing building.
