The “Cité de l'Eau Aquatis” is a new scientific cultural centre dedicated to freshwater and environmental protection. This unique project in reinforced concrete, located on the previously existing platform of the P+R Vennes in Lausanne, addresses numerous challenges. Within its circular plan, the museum proposes an interactive tour through the five continents which includes two main aquaria, a tropical forest and a restaurant.
The load-bearing structure consists of a grid of columns and vertical cores. It is designed to accommodate up to 40 aquaria and terraria as well as the two major basins of 1'000'000 and 425'000 litres of water.
